Questions Answered

Find answers to commonly asked questions about Hack54.

What is Hack54?

Hack54 is an innovation series designed to bring together brilliant minds—developers, designers, professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs—to build high-impact, real-world solutions. Our hackathons focus on intense, collaborative problem-solving to tackle pressing challenges in emerging markets.

Who can participate?

Anyone with a passion for innovation! Whether you are a seasoned software engineer, a UI/UX designer, a domain expert, a fresh grad or a student with a brilliant idea, there is a place for you.

Do I need a team to register?

Not necessarily. You can register as an established team (ideally 2 to 3 people) or as an individual. If you register solo, we will host dedicated team-formation and networking sessions right before the hacking begins to help you find the perfect squad.

What would we build?

You can build web applications, mobile apps, hardware prototypes, or blockchain solutions—whatever best solves the challenge statements provided at the start of the event. The core requirement is that your solution must be functional and demonstrable by the final pitching round.

Are we allowed to work on pre-existing projects?

No. To keep the competition fair, all code, designs, and prototypes must be created during the official hacking window of the event. You are, however, highly encouraged to brainstorm ideas and research the problem statements beforehand.

Is the event in-person or virtual?

Hack54 events are typically hosted as intensive, in-person experiences at premier ecosystem hubs and campuses to maximize collaboration, mentorship, and networking. Specific venue details will be announced on the event venue page.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your laptop, chargers, any specific hardware you plan to use, and a lot of energy! We’ve got you covered when it comes to high-speed internet, power strips, meals, snacks, and plenty of coffee to keep you fueled.

Will there be mentorship available?

Yes! You won't be building in a vacuum. A dedicated lineup of industry experts, senior developers, and business strategists will be floating around (and available on our official communication channels) to mentor teams, help debug technical issues, and refine your pitch.

How can I become a mentor, partner, or sponsor?

We are always looking to partner with organizations and professionals who share our vision for driving innovation. Please reach out to our partnerships team through the "Partner With Us" section on our website to discuss collaboration opportunities.

What are the prizes?

We offer substantial rewards to top-performing teams, including cash prizes, equity-free grant funding, and access to incubator or accelerator programs to help turn your prototype into a viable startup. We also feature special partner prizes for specific API integrations or track challenges.
